Meet Lauren Dod – A Chicago based model
From the time I was a little girl, I’ve loved being in front of the camera. It was fun. But what started out as a hobby, has turned into something completely different. As one shoot led to another, I learned lots about what goes into a production. I have great respect for the profession and the professionals around it who have made it a career.
I am a junior in high school and have been modeling for several years doing print, video, runway and commercial projects. Since I am equally comfortable in uptown (glamour) and down-home (t-shirts) attire, I am able to model a broad range of looks and styles. Indeed, most photographers I’ve worked with are surprised by my versatility and my professionalism for someone my age. I’m no prima donna on a shoot. (Ask me about the time I passed out from heat exhaustion!) My flair for fashion mirrors my eclectic interests (but I’ve given up the pink plastic feathered heels I tried to wear to kindergarten).
Aside from having extremely fast thumbs, ‘typical teenager’ would never describe me. I have a strong sense of what is right and what is wrong and expect the same from my friends. I am in love with country music and I have an unreal memory for song lyrics but I can’t seem to keep track of where I leave my phone. There’s almost no food I won’t try and many I won’t give up for anything!
