How To Style a Sweater and Skirt Combo for Fall
written by: Anne-Marie Dumas
Fall is officially upon us! As the weather gets colder it becomes more of a task to be stylish and keep warm. A personal daily struggle of mine is to figure out what to wear to work. Even though I work in a ‘casual’ work environment I like to keep it dressy at times. Most of my fall and winter closet consists of sweaters, finding creativity with my outfits can sometimes be hard. Trading my usual pants with a skirt is my go to when I want to try a new look. See below for a few tips on how to style a sweater with a skirt.
Wearing skirts and sweaters allows for more freedom of expression, mixing and matching patterns with bold colors always works. As a tip, try styling a bold colored sweater with a neutral skirt. A dark print complements the fall colors well. The trendiest print of the season, animal print, looks great with black or cream.
Adding some silhouette to your look amps of the professionalism. Throw a belt around your waist to pull your look together. Try tucking your sweater into your skirt.
Dresses can double as skirts. Throw a sweater over a spring dress and people won’t know the difference. With this look, embrace versatility and get the most out of your entire closet by wearing your dresses all year round.
During the spring sneakers and skirts were w whole trend. Now that its fall, keep things cozy with sneakers, booties, boots etc.
One of my favorite holiday inspired outfits is a mini skirt with a gold sweater. Pairing a mini skirt with colorful tights and a sweater is a fun twist on a classic look.
