Rolling into Chicago’s Lower West Side for a 2nd consecutive year is the Pilsen Food Truck Social. As its eponymous name suggests, food trucks are the centerpiece of this neighborhood street fest, which opened to rave reviews and big crowds in 2015. Up to 35 Illinois Food Truck Owner Association affiliated food trucks will congregate on 18th Street at Allport, offering mobile delicacies and treats, everything from tamales to Kobe beef, mac n’ cheese to cupcakes. A Sampler Ticket will allow consumers to stroll around and try sample-sized portions from any food truck or Pilsen Area restaurant onsite, and also sample sponsor Revolution beer, wine or spirits. All food and beverages will also be available for regular individual cash purchase. A percentage of proceeds from the event benefits Illinois Food Truck Owners Association, St Procopius Church soup kitchen and food pantry & a local after school program TBA.
